Journalism instructors, students, editor, and an Emmy award-winning documentarian join DroneJournalism.org

I’m once again pleased to announce new members at DroneJournalism.org, including journalism students, instructors, editors, an SAR expert, and an Emmy award-winning documentarian.

  • Tim Underhill is a telecommunications instructor at Ball State
  • Ryan Sparrow teaches journalism graphics and photography at Ball State. His students have begun looking into how unmanned aircraft can enhance storytelling.
  • Drew Koch is an undergrad studying journalism at the University of Missouri.
  • Mike Trautman has a background in SAR (Search and Rescue) and remote controlled aircraft.
  • Vidisha Priyanka is an interactive learning producer at the Poynter Institute.
  • John Badcock is a CBC cinematographer with UAV experience.
  • Madhav Naidu is a master's student at Osmania University and a business sub-editor for a daily newspaper.
  • Stephen Hudnell is an Emmy award-winning television and documentary producer based in Columbia, Mo.
As usual, we continue to accept applications for people who have journalism, communications, or technical experience and are looking to integrate unmanned aircraft into reporting. Please remember to include a bio with information about your interest in unmanned systems in the online membership form.

Membership continues to be free, but we require members to abide by the code of ethics as listed on DroneJournalism.org. Our first newsletter should be coming out shortly.
